Camping Le Capelan is a 4 star campsite located in Meyrueis in the Lozère department.
Right on the Jonte River you will find camping le Capelan. You can have a nice swim in the river. If you feel like an active day, the campground has its own climbing wall, basketball court and bocce court. The area is full of nature: perfect for hiking, biking and mountain biking. This medium-sized campground has nearly 60 tourist pitches, some on sand and some on grass. Most pitches are located along the river. In addition to pitches, you can also rent mobile homes at the campground.
For a refreshing dip, head to the outdoor pool with a separate paddling pool. But the river next to the campground is also great for swimming. At the campsite you will find a snack bar and a kiosk. For sports activities, you can use the climbing wall, where you can complete various courses of 400 meters, the basketball court or the bocce court. The campground also organizes guided hikes. In high season, there is an evening entertainment program for adults.
The area is great for hiking, biking and mountain biking. If you want to see the caves up close, you only have to travel a little more than 2 kilometers to a riding center 2 kilometers away. There is a cable car 5 kilometers from the campground. About 20 kilometers away, you can rent boats, canoe, kayak or raft. The Aven-Armand caves in Dargilan are also 20 kilometers from the campsite.
Camping Le Capelan is open from early May to mid-September.
